Subject: A Brief Review.....
The second release from this new netlabel appears to be a collaboration between BusKerDroiD and HermeneutecH. First up, we're greeted by some deep, shifting ambience and, from what I can hear, granular processing of the original source material. It's good ambient music and sits in the background, unobtrusive but with enough presence to carry itself.
The next track ups the ante with an almost rythmic beat, shards of fluttering LFO's and the suggestions of a groove similar to some of Merzbow's "Door Open 8AM". Ultra high frequencies explode and pan over the sounds of electronic shutdown while certain sounds seem to suggest EVP, shadows of voices and an underlying drone that will clear the ears and make you take notice!
The creeping intro to 'Arcane Remedy' builds at the perfect pace until a deeper drone kicks in, electronics sneak into the mix and hints at industrial processes. As the track progresses, sounds reminiscent of 'Boards Of Canada' slip in. lifting the mood of the track until they're replaced, in an almost unnoticeable way, by the shifting sounds that suggest acrid deserts before fading out slowly.
Oniricum follows similar droning, rising ambience with hints of melody floating in and out. A more positive sounding piece compared to the rest of the release, this makes for interesting listening.
Production-wise, this is a well mixed release and outshines many of the home released noise artists that I've heard. Definitely worth a download and definitely one to recommend.
